Integration Of Eastern Pedagogical Perspectives In Independent Learning In English Language Teaching
Abstract
This article explores the integration of Eastern pedagogical perspectives into the independent learning process in English language teaching. It examines traditional Eastern educational principles such as self-cultivation, continuous self-improvement, mentorship, moral-ethical development, and learner autonomy, and analyzes how these ideals can be meaningfully applied to contemporary ELT contexts. The study emphasizes how Eastern pedagogical traditions strengthen learners’ intrinsic motivation, reflective thinking, and responsibility for their own learning. Recommendations for practical classroom integration and a conceptual model of independent learning enriched with Eastern values are also provided.
