The article analyzes the socio-pedagogical necessity of forming a culture of working with information in the process of socializing adolescent students. The culture of working with information is interpreted as an integrative system of knowledge, skills, and value-based attitudes related to the purposeful search for information, its selection, verification of the reliability of sources, critical evaluation, use in accordance with ethical norms, and the creation of new information products. The mutual influence of the family, school, peer group, and digital information environment on the adolescent’s socialization is revealed. The approaches of national and foreign scholars to media education, digital literacy, information security, and students’ information culture are comparatively analyzed. The cognitive-search, critical-analytical, ethical-security, communicative-creative, and reflexive-regulatory components of forming information culture are substantiated.
