Interracial Marriages In The United States: Current Trends And Prospects
Abstract
The topic of interracial marriage in the United States has gained particular relevance in recent decades. If in the middle of the 20th century such unions were banned in a number of states and were perceived as something contrary to social norms, today they have become commonplace. However, this process had a complex history involving legislative barriers, social prejudices and the gradual transformation of public consciousness. This article is aimed at analyzing the historical development of interracial marriage in the United States, modern statistical trends, public perception, growth factors, problems and prospects for the development of this social institution.
