VIRTUOUS RESPONSES: PHILIPPA FOOT'S APPROACH TO COUNTERING SOCIOPOLITICAL CORRUPTION
Abstract
This paper explores Philippa Foot's philosophical perspective on addressing and overcoming sociopolitical corruption through the cultivation of virtue. Foot's ethical framework emphasizes the importance of virtues such as integrity, honesty, and justice in navigating and reforming corrupt social and political systems. Drawing on Foot's moral philosophy, this study examines how virtues serve as foundational principles for countering corruption, promoting ethical behavior, and fostering social change. By analyzing Foot's insights into the nature of virtue and its application in combating corruption, this research offers valuable insights into ethical responses to sociopolitical challenges.
