PRESERVING TRUST: NOTARIES AS SENTINELS OF INTEGRITY IN CRIMINAL LAW
Abstract
This study delves into the crucial yet often overlooked role of notaries as sentinels of integrity within the realm of criminal law. Notaries, as public officials entrusted with the authentication of legal documents and the administration of oaths, play a pivotal role in upholding the rule of law. Their responsibilities extend beyond mere witnessing; they are the guardians of legal integrity, ensuring that documents and statements are authentic, honest, and in compliance with the law. This research explores the multifaceted duties and challenges faced by notaries in the criminal justice system, shedding light on their essential contribution to the maintenance of trust and credibility in legal proceedings.
