Abstract

This paper explores the dynamic (re)configuration of gender in Nigerian literature, examining how gender roles and identities have been portrayed and transformed across different historical periods and geographical regions. By analyzing a diverse range of literary works, this study investigates the interplay between tradition and modernity, colonial and post-colonial influences, and rural and urban settings in shaping gender narratives. The paper aims to uncover the multifaceted ways in which Nigerian authors negotiate gender, offering insights into the broader socio-cultural and political contexts that influence these literary expressions.
