The article explores topical issues of biodiversity protection in the country with a focus on the plant world. The authors analyze the existing legal mechanisms and criteria used to identify rare and endangered plant species in Uzbekistan and assess their effectiveness in preserving vulnerable ecosystems. The article draws attention to the key normative acts regulating the protection of the flora and suggests reflexive approaches to improving existing methods of identifying threatened species. The paper also examines international standards and the experience of other countries in the field of protection of rare plants. The study provides recommendations for improving legal criteria and their more effective implementation in the context of the Uzbek ecosystem. The authors emphasize the importance of a balanced approach to biodiversity conservation, taking into account both environmental and socio-economic aspects.
