This article comprehensively examines the issues of forming and methodologically developing phraseological competence among students majoring in philology at higher education institutions. Based on the modern achievements of theoretical and applied linguistics, the acquisition of semantic, linguocultural, pragmatic-stylistic and discursive features of phraseological units has been modeled. The article presents innovative methodological developments for enriching the phraseological stock of future philologists and improving their speech skills through cognitive and interactive educational technologies, digital resources, visualization (infographics and mental maps), methodological cases, and creative projects.
