This article examines a methodology for developing university students’ auditory competence through the MasterListening platform. Particular attention is given to the integration of digital listening practice with classroom instruction and to the systematic development of both bottom-up and top-down processing skills. The study considers pre-listening, while-listening and post-listening activities, repeated listening, transcription, analysis of connected speech, error diagnosis and reflective practice as important components of effective listening instruction. It is argued that regular platform-based practice can help students improve their recognition of natural spoken English, comprehension of main ideas and specific information, interpretation of contextual meaning and ability to cope with unfamiliar language. The analysis also emphasizes the importance of differentiated tasks, learner autonomy, formative assessment and teacher guidance.
