Surdopedagogue interactive methods pedagogical approach

Studying the speech competence of future surdopedagogues (specialist teachers working with children who have hearing impairments) requires a well-grounded research design and a purposeful selection of methods. Speech competence is a complex, multicomponent phenomenon that cannot be fully investigated by a single method alone. For this reason, the present study is based on a mixed-methods research design: quantitative methods serve to measure indicators of speech competence and to identify statistical relationships among them, while qualitative methods provide a deep, contextual understanding of the process through which speech competence is formed. Such a mixed approach combines the strengths of both methods and serves a full and profound understanding of complex pedagogical phenomena.
