This article examines the development of an ergonomic-didactic model for enhancing the professional competencies of future engineers through virtual simulation systems in computer networks education. The rapid digital transformation of engineering education requires not only the modernization of educational content, but also the creation of learning environments that correspond to the cognitive, practical and ergonomic needs of students. Computer networks education is characterized by complex abstract processes, dynamic data exchange, network configuration procedures and system-level interactions that are often difficult to master through traditional theoretical instruction alone. Virtual simulation systems create opportunities for modeling network structures, configuring routers and switches, analyzing traffic flows, identifying errors and solving professional problems in a safe digital environment. The proposed ergonomic-didactic model integrates pedagogical design, cognitive load management, interface usability, interactive practice, feedback mechanisms and competency-based assessment. The study substantiates that the effective use of virtual simulation systems contributes to the development of technical, analytical, diagnostic, project-based and decision-making competencies of future engineers.
