This article analyzes modern scientific views on complex disorders in the development of children with special educational needs. The essence of complex and complicated disorders, their etiological factors, structure, and impact on the mental, speech, and social development of the child are highlighted. The structure of complex defects is explained based on L.S. Vygotsky's theory of primary and secondary disorders. Also, the scientific approaches of V.I. Lubovsky, E.M. Mastyukova, M.G. Blumina, and V.N. Chulkov are analyzed, and important aspects of teaching, upbringing, and providing correctional and developmental assistance to children with complex disorders are revealed. The results of the study show that in-depth study of the developmental characteristics of children with complex disorders is important in developing individual educational programs and increasing the effectiveness of inclusive education.
