This article explains the content and essence of the didactic possibilities of developing the creative competence of students of higher education institutions. In order to clarify the content of the didactic possibilities of developing the creative competence of students of higher education institutions, the results of the analysis are presented, according to which the concepts of “competence” and “competency” were comparatively studied in the research work. Also, the interrelated features of intellect and creativity, their didactic possibilities, and the characterization of creativity as a skill and ability are also covered.
