UNLOCKING POTENTIAL: INTEGRATING CRITICAL THINKING INTO ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING PLANS
Abstract
This paper explores the integration of critical thinking skills into English language teaching plans, aiming to empower students to become independent and analytical thinkers. Critical thinking is a vital skill in today's rapidly changing world, enabling individuals to evaluate information, solve problems, and make informed decisions. By incorporating critical thinking tasks and activities into English language lessons, educators can foster deeper engagement with content, enhance language proficiency, and equip students with essential life skills. Drawing on pedagogical theories and practical examples, this paper provides strategies for integrating critical thinking into various aspects of English language teaching, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. It also discusses the benefits and challenges of implementing such an approach and offers recommendations for effective classroom practice.
