INDIGENOUS ECONOMIC CHALLENGES: EXPLORING THE INTERPLAY WITH MIGRATION
Abstract
Indigenous communities worldwide face multifaceted economic challenges that intersect with migration dynamics. This paper explores the complex interplay between indigenous economic struggles and migration patterns, shedding light on the underlying factors and implications for indigenous peoples. Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from anthropology, economics, and migration studies, the analysis examines how economic marginalization, land dispossession, and lack of access to resources contribute to indigenous outmigration. Additionally, the paper explores the impacts of migration on indigenous communities, including changes in social structures, cultural practices, and traditional livelihoods. By elucidating these dynamics, this study seeks to inform policies and interventions that address the root causes of indigenous economic challenges while safeguarding indigenous rights and cultural heritage.
