This article analyzes the formation and development of transport networks in Surkhandaryo region following the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The study highlights the modernization of the region’s transport infrastructure, as well as reforms and major projects in road, railway, and air transport sectors. Furthermore, the article scientifically demonstrates the role of the transport system in economic and social development, the opening of new routes, and the expansion of international connections. The research is based on archival sources, government decrees, and local statistical data.
