The Jadid movement occupies a significant place in the history of Central Asia as a socio-cultural, educational, and intellectual reform movement that emerged in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Jadids sought to modernize society through educational reforms, scientific advancement, cultural renewal, and national consciousness. They played a crucial role in introducing new teaching methods, publishing newspapers and books, promoting women's education, and advocating social progress. This article examines the historical background, development, major representatives, achievements, and legacy of the Jadid movement. The study also highlights the importance of Jadidism in shaping modern Uzbek national identity and its contribution to the enlightenment process in Turkestan.
