COMPARATIVE STUDY OF DIESEL GENERATOR WORKERS' PERIODONTAL HEALTH AND ANTIOXIDANT LEVELS

Dahiyyah Hakimi , Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, Iraq

Abstract

This comparative study examines the periodontal health status and antioxidant levels among diesel generator workers. Periodontal health was assessed using clinical parameters, while antioxidant levels were measured through biochemical assays. Comparative analysis between diesel generator workers and a control group was conducted to evaluate differences in these health indicators. The findings reveal potential correlations between occupational exposure to diesel emissions and periodontal health deterioration, as well as alterations in antioxidant defense mechanisms. Implications for occupational health management and preventive strategies are discussed.
