This article analyzes the manifestation of cultural codes in English and Uzbek filmonyms from a comparative linguocultural perspective. Today, film titles not only convey the content, genre, and ideological direction of a motion picture, but also reflect a nation’s values, historical memory, and national worldview. The study employs comparative, semantic-pragmatic, and linguocultural methods of analysis. The findings show that cultural codes related to individualism, heroism, historical memory, and popular culture are dominant in English filmonyms, whereas Uzbek filmonyms primarily foreground cultural codes associated with family, the mahalla, weddings, parents, traditions, and collectivism. As a result, filmonyms are substantiated as important linguocultural units that express a nation’s cultural memory and system of values.
