Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of the semantic groups of lexical units representing the concept of the wedding ceremony in the Russian and Uzbek languages. The study examines the composition, thematic organization, and semantic characteristics of the lexical layer associated with wedding traditions, highlighting its national and cultural significance. Lexical units denoting kinship terms, participants in wedding rituals, traditional customs, ceremonial objects, national dishes, and ritual practices are classified into semantic groups to identify their common and distinctive features in both languages.
