The study investigates the structural and functional dynamics of adverbial tense usage in contemporary Arabic press discourse through a corpus-based analytical framework grounded in modern literary and linguistic theory. Adverbial tenses, as temporal modifiers, play a crucial role in shaping narrative temporality, coherence, and ideological positioning in journalistic texts. This research integrates theoretical insights from structuralism, narratology, and literary criticism to examine how temporal expressions influence meaning construction in Arabic media language. By employing a qualitative-analytical methodology, the study categorizes patterns of temporal adverbial usage across selected press texts, identifying their syntactic configurations and pragmatic implications. The findings reveal that adverbial tenses are not merely grammatical elements but strategic tools that construct temporal sequencing, reinforce narrative authority, and reflect socio-political contexts. The study contributes to the broader field of discourse analysis by offering a systematic model for analyzing temporal structures in media language and highlights the need for further interdisciplinary research in Arabic linguistics and media studies.
