In recent years, gastronomic tourism has emerged as a dynamic component of cultural tourism, attracting travelers who seek authentic experiences through local food traditions. As tourism markets become increasingly competitive, destinations are exploring new ways to differentiate themselves by highlighting unique cultural resources. Uzbekistan, situated at the historical crossroads of the Silk Road, possesses a rich culinary heritage that reflects centuries of cultural interaction, trade, and regional diversity. This article examines the role of traditional Uzbek cuisine as a cultural attraction and explores its contribution to the development of gastronomic tourism in the country. The study analyzes how culinary traditions, national dishes, and hospitality practices represent elements of cultural identity and enhance visitors’ experiential engagement with local communities. Particular attention is given to the historical foundations of Uzbek cuisine, the cultural symbolism of traditional dishes, and the growing significance of culinary experiences in tourism development. The article argues that promoting gastronomic tourism can strengthen Uzbekistan’s destination image while supporting the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. By integrating traditional cuisine into tourism strategies, Uzbekistan has the potential to further diversify its tourism sector and establish itself as a distinctive gastronomic destination in Central Asia.
