Metaphor functional-semantic features stylistic function

This article examines the functional-semantic features of metaphor in English literary discourse from cognitive-semantic and stylistic perspectives. The study explores metaphor not only as an artistic expressive device, but also as a conceptual mechanism that constructs meaning, organizes textual structure, and reflects the author’s worldview. Particular attention is devoted to the semantic and functional roles of metaphor in literary texts and to its influence on the reader’s interpretation and emotional perception.
