This article analyzes the main stages of reforms implemented in the education system over the 35 years since the Republic of Uzbekistan gained state independence, as well as their legal-institutional foundations, achieved results, and future prospects. The study specifically highlights the initial stage of reforms in education, which involved forming the national education system; the period of improving educational content and governance; and the "New Uzbekistan" stage, which began in 2017. The article establishes that improving the quality of education, strengthening the status of educators, deepening the integration of education and science, developing a digital educational environment, and ensuring equal opportunities in education are priority tasks for the future.
