This article analyzes the criminal-legal characterization of contemporary crimes committed using artificial intelligence (AI) systems, as well as the problems associated with their qualification. Traditional concepts in criminal law doctrine — the subject of a crime and the issue of mens rea — are examined in the context of autonomous algorithms. Gaps in the criminal legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan are analyzed, and practical proposals for ensuring security in cyberspace and improving law-making are put forward.
